Annis moved to Mississauga in 2014 to take the helm at VAM, a premier not-for-profit arts organization set in Riverwood, 150 acre conservation area located in the middle of Mississauga.

Annis has an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College, Vermont and a MEd in holistic education from OISE/University of Toronto. She is an artist and writer, with an eclectic mix of experience gleaned from her work as a journalist, General Manager for the Bishop’s University Students’ Representative Council in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Executive Director of Townshippers’ Foundation, Manager of the Scowen Foundation and Coordinator for the York University Centre for Feminist Research.

She is a life-long learner, a community builder, a possibiltarian and a strategic thinker and she is a founding member of the Third Monday Collective – an independent group of Mississauga Culture Organizations that meet monthly. Annis volunteers every year at the Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle Blues Festival in Port Credit.
