Social media influencers are seemingly everywhere in this technological era, but how can you capitalize their reach? Marketing expert Rida Dar shares some of her tips to properly use influencer marketing.

Influencer Impact

Social media has changed the way we shop, dine & socialize as a whole. Instagram has over 800 million active users and it has been found that 65% of top-performing posts have featured a product or brand.

71% of consumers are more likely to make a purchase based on social media (Stackla) and 30% of millennial said that they would avoid a place if they didn’t like their Instagram account (Zizzi). The numbers don’t lie, influencers are a major part of successful marketing so ensure you can utilize them! Connect with digital marketers and social media experts to get help identifying which influencers would be a great fit with your brand!

Identifying Influencers

Consumers are more likely to believe a recommendation from someone they can relate with on social media.

In order to properly use influencers, you need to identify what you want. A good start is establishing who your target audience and what influencer niche you want so you can know which communities to look at! Did that? Now do some homework on the community; does their content fit your brand and how is their engagement rate?

Storytelling

People are ready to try new places if the content speaks, and influencers are the primary vehicle for delivering content in an authentic way.

Now that you know where to look, it is time to do some reflection. Understand how YOUR brand fits into their community and what campaigns you want your influencers to create. Influencers can convert curiosity by using their established and trusted reputation, so recognize the relationships they have built and work yourself into it.

5 Tips on Trends

Here are 5 tips on the trends of influencer marketing and community growth, take notes!

  1. It is all about micro-influencers, small creators that have more engagement.
  2. Let the creators decide how to best create for you! They know their audience better than you, so allow them more creative freedom.
  3. Connect with and track influencers with high engagement to build a relationship that can blossom into a partnership!
  4. Track ROI from Instagram
  5. Follow influencers and experts in their fields and platforms. This can include apps like Clubhouse, Instagram and even TikTok.
