Welcome to our blog, friend! This week’s guide is on the Jelly Social organization, from creation and humble beginnings to where we are now and beyond!

The Jelly That Keeps Us Together

Named after the idea of gelling (jelly-ing) together with one another, Jelly Social’s goal as a non-profit organization is to bring BIPOC and ally entrepreneurs together to do entrepreneurship in a better, more inclusive way. We believe that equal entrepreneurship is for everyone; and our mission is to ensure that people of all races, cultures, and backgrounds have boundless opportunities to thrive as entrepreneurs.

Making the Movement

Some entrepreneurs face discriminatory boundaries due to our diversity, making them have to work harder, take less, struggle more than others. We were fed up with this and created the “Entrepreneurship Without Boundaries” movement.

Sounds cool, right? It is, and supporting the movement is simple: we need to learn from, connect with, and collaborate with as many diverse entrepreneurs as possible. The more we do this, the more we are creating boundless opportunities for everyone to thrive as entrepreneurs. Actions are louder than words, so go out and be the change you want to see!

“The more we collaborate with other BIPOC and ally entrepreneurs, the more we eliminate the harmful effects of discrimination - and the more we are creating boundless opportunities for everyone to thrive.”

Starting Small

Founded in Mississauga, Ontario in 2016 with the goal of helping create a world where everybody has a place to call “my community,” we are on a mission to unite, educate and strengthen. 4000+ active participants and 5 years later, here we are!

Pandemic Adjustments

We’ve been fortunate enough to smoothly transition our in-person events into monthly, online programming that encourages and empowers both BIPOC communities and allies. Support for smaller businesses is more important now than ever with the looming pandemic restricting our ability to physically engage with one another, so make sure you are doing your part in supporting your local BIPOC and Ally businesses!

We are expanding to other platforms to spread our helpful tips and continue to support businesses like us with the hopes of eventually going international.
